The inspiration for this yarn is Saint Nicholas of Myra – the patron saint of children. He was well known to subtly leave gifts – and this is depicted in a lot of devotional icons.
His generosity reminded me of how Michele (my late mother-in-law) would give us thoughtful little goodies.
Naming this colorway was straight and easy, as it is dedicated to the most celebrated saint during Christmastime.

There are many ways on how Christmas colors are depicted throughout the world, but I wanted to create my own through yarn dyeing.

This colorway is a combination of the rich, vivid red reminiscent of Santa Claus and a flurry of poinsettias – combined with the verdant hue of garlands and Christmas trees, as well as the warm twinkling lights of the season.
I love how this turned out, and I am looking to make more unique takes on Christmas colorways!
